With over fifty years of excellence, we specialize in designing, fabricating, machining, welding, and constructing parts and assemblies from various materials into functional systems, instruments, models, and research projects, ensuring outstanding accuracy and adherence to specific tolerances.
As a self-sustaining, revenue-generating unit, we take pride in offering high-quality machining and fabrication services at a more cost-effective rate than the private sector
The Engineering Research Center(ERC) Machine Shop is a vital part of Colorado State University’s engineering ecosystem, serving as a premier hub for machining, fabrication, and engineering support. Established in 1963, the ERC was built on the Foothills Campus, strategically located beneath Soldier Canyon Dam near Horsetooth Reservoir. Originally designed to support advanced hydraulic research, the facility quickly evolved into a center for cutting-edge engineering projects, fabrication, and prototype development. For over 50 years, we have been a trusted partner to students, faculty, researchers, and external collaborators, offering a comprehensive range of manufacturing, machining, and engineering consultation services.
